A Letter from the President

Dear friends and supporters,

As I reflect on the incredible journey of the KB Foundation in 2024, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude. Our unwavering commitment to the belief that "Exposure is Life" has driven us to new heights, allowing us to touch more lives and create lasting impact in the Greater Philadelphia area.

This year has been nothing short of transformative. We've seen our total revenue surge by 157% to $854,000, while our net operating revenue had a remarkable increase of over 30,400% to $363,700. These figures aren't just numbers on a spreadsheet; they represent expanded opportunities and brighter futures for the youth we serve.

I'm particularly excited about the progress of our L.E.A.P. (Leadership Exchange Abroad Program) for rising ninth-graders and The Answer Project (T.A.P.) for young men aged 17-24. These initiatives, along with our expanded partnerships, are opening doors and broadening horizons for our participants.

Our core programs continue to thrive. The KB P.O.W.E.R. Mentoring Camp, our Lunch & Learn Programs, and our international exchange with Ivorian youth are all testaments to the power of exposure in shaping young lives. We've hosted 12 Lunch and Learns, sourced 19 summer internships/jobs generating $25,000 for our youth, and strengthened our community partnerships.

We're not resting on our laurels. As we look to 2025, we're gearing up to launch an app for year-long family programming, implement a robust evaluation strategy, expand our transportation support, and develop a full summer youth enrichment day camp.

None of this would be possible without the support of our partners, donors, and the incredible KB Foundation team. Your belief in our mission fuels our work every day.

Together, we're proving that exposure truly is life. We're breaking barriers, broadening perspectives, and creating ripples of change that will be felt for generations to come.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to another year of growth, impact, and transformation.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Kirk Berry

2024 Highlights

Thank You to the Jalen Hurts Foundation and Lincoln Financial Group Foundation

In the summer of 2024 the Jalen Hurts Foundation and Lincoln Financial Group Foundation partnered with the KB Foundation to gift us the resources to purchase a 33 passenger bus with an eye catching wrap.

This bus will help us with our mission of exposing youth to new experiences through the KB Foundation educational programs.

Braden Mann’s Generous Gift: Empowering KBF Youth with Strength & Opportunity

In January 2025, USA Today featured a story about Philadelphia Eagles punter Braden Mann and his commitment to mentoring youth through the KB Foundation (KBF). Mann's involvement and generous donation of a weight set to a KBF youth, George Pickett III, has been instrumental in providing this young man guidance and support.

This KBF mentor not only equipped the young athlete with the tools necessary for physical development but also served as a source of motivation and inspiration. We at KBF take pride in connecting mentors like Braden with young people eager to grow and succeed everyday.

Actual Revenue

69%

Earnings Over Budget

The 69% increase in funding over what was budgeted for 2024 shows that we have significantly exceeded our financial goals for the year.

Did we achieve our financial goals this year?

Based on the comparison between the 2023 and 2024 budgeted revenue for the KB Foundation, it appears that we have significantly exceeded our financial goals for the year.

The substantial increase in revenue, coupled with the introduction of new programs and the significant growth in net operating revenue, strongly indicates that the KB Foundation has successfully leveraged increased funding to expand program offerings and operational capacity in 2024. The organization demonstrated remarkable growth, diversified its funding sources, and expanded its programmatic reach while maintaining operational efficiency.

Our budget for 2023 was $300,000, our budget for 2024 was $506,000, and we are planning for another increase of $50,000 for 2025, indicating strong financial growth and sustainability.

The foundation's growth reflects its commitment to making a greater impact in the community through targeted educational and mentoring initiatives.
